Near Conques #3
Oil pastel of the landscape near Conques in the Lot Valley of the Aveyron in southern France.
In the early 1990s at the invitation of Atkins Fine Art, I lived in southern France and painted its landscapes, noted for their vast areas of open spaces and golden sunlight.
I did this painting with oil bars and oil pastels on 22-inch-high x 30-inch-wide heavy watercolor paper. The painting is signed in the lower right corner and is dated on the back (1999).
The painting has raised double matting and is framed behind anti-reflection glass. The gray wood frame is 31.5 inches high x 39 inches wide x 0.75 inch deep.
