Near Montpellier #1
Work in oil pastels and oil pigment sticks of the landscape near Montpellier in the south of France bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
In the early 1990s at the invitation of Atkins Fine Art, I lived in southern France and painted its landscapes, noted for their vast areas of open spaces and golden sunlight.
I did this painting using oil pastels and oil pigment sticks on 22-inch-high x 30-inch-wide age-resistant acid-free heavy archival paper.
The work is framed with raised double matting behind anti-reflection glass in a 32-inch-high x 40-inch-wide x 1-inch-deep mottled gold-gray with silver lip wood frame and is signed and dated (1998).
